This book was a dense text. Tends to be somewhat comical with Holden’s observations of the every day lives of people in NYC. Some what vulgar language, though. The comical spins Salinger puts on the subtle nuiances of society were funny. Not a very easy read, though as it is written from the point of view of Holden (entirely).

I purchased a Transcend 4GB Class 6 card (TS4GSDHC6) in October, 2008 along with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ8K camera. Recently (July, 2010), after infrequent, light use, the camera started indicating errors on the card, and we lost some pictures. I replaced the card with a different brand, and the errors went away, so the problem is definitely the card, not the camera (which, btw, is a great camera). I’m outside of the Amazon full replacement period, so all I can do is ask Transcend for another card on their lifetime warranty. But I will only use the replacement card when I don’t care about losing the data on it, because this card is really not reliable for anything important.

A really beautiful novel. So beautiful that this author wrote it – you know at the end that it comes from her heart.

I’ll never forget Skeeter, Aibileen, or Minny. Brave women – wish this story were fully true. But it does shine a light on the small and large threads that made way for change in the 1960s. This world is still segregated in so many ways – we’ve got to fix that. This book, if read by everyone, I believe, would lead to a change of hearts and minds. It should win a peace award, if it hasn’t already.

Book shares the power of love, literature, freedom, friendship, and courage.

I would have liked to see more of Celia. Celia and Skeeter both struggled – they could have done better together. And yes, as others have said, some of the characters could be seen as a little cardboard. But it’s fiction, playing in, in some sense, to the archetypes. No matter. Those tiny flaws aren’t anything. This is an outstanding book, and I’m glad I read it. I feel like I’ve finished something monumental. Great job, Ms. Stockett.

As the days get hotter here in Brooklyn,NY, my cat Nat was shedding more and more and staying under anything that kept him cool. I was desperate to give both him and I some relief. Like other reviews, I bought the brushes, the bristles, the big red homie the clown rubber glove thing which was harder to clean than my cat. But the hair seem to never end.

A friend hipped me to the Furminator and I found it for cheap here on Amazon. But again, as others have testified it is worth its asking price.

Today, I ripped it out of its plastic container, coached my cat into the bathroom and stripped down to my underwear (enough of my clothes will forever have cat hair on it, the madness would stop today). I locked the door and brushed the living life out of my cat. 20 minutes later, I was covered in so much fur, Nat thought I bought a second cat home. The waste basket was filled to the rim in his fur and Nat appeared as if he lost 3 lbs. He coat glistened and with no fear he strutted towards the sun that came through the windows.

He loved every minute of it. As if he was meowing “Free at last Free at last, thank god almighty I’m free…”

Ok, I’m being a bit over the top here, but the damn product works!

Had to have it for two new computers to access older version of Office files, though the updates are cumbersome to wade through being used to Office 03. Don’t really like the “improved” presentation of each. Tabs changed not necessarily for the better. Sometimes newer isn’t better. It works for what we needed it to do. Would rather have been able to purchase the older version for less. Progress? Not necessarily.

God’s words, thoughts..meanings are often taken and fitted into holes that would take squares. Many often take one verse and build an entire belief system around it without any sense of context or application.

This book however, goes one better. A better title would be, Talking with Satan…
If there were ever a bastardization of God’s Holy words and their meanings…this book is it.

For instance (and I paraphrase), when a girl asks the question “Why am I a lesbian?” His answer is that she was ‘born that way’ because of genetics (just as you were born right-handed, with brown eyes, etc.). Then he tells her to go out and “celebrate” her differences.

Another girls poses the question “I am living with my boyfriend. My parents say that I should marry him because I am living in sin. Should I marry him?”

His reply is, “Who are you sinning against? Not me, because you have done nothing wrong.”

Another question asks about God’s forgiveness of sin. His reply “I do not forgive anyone because there is nothing to forgive.. There is no such thing as right or wrong and that is what I have been trying to tell everyone, do not judge people. People have chosen to judge one another and this is wrong, because the rule is “‘judge not lest ye be judged.”

So, as my title ask…Are your ears itching..I take that from the following scripture which warns us of this very thing being offered up as something from God.
2 Timothy 4:3……”For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.”

The Help captured me on the first page and never let go. The stories of the help and the ladies they work for were fascinating in their historical context while also being both fun and sad at the same time. It is a wonderful snapshot in time for the south. I highly recommend.

I had an iPod touch 2G before I bought this product, and so far have been just as satisfied. The extra twenty some gigs up from the previous eight is an amazing thing. And the added processing power allows for easier navigation through the windows and response times in the many games that are available both through the store and elsewhere. All in all, I don’t know how I could have survived without my iPod touch even before I had my first one.

The basic carpet cleaning funcion is great – the handheld attachment doesn’t have nearly enough suction to adequately pull the water/cleaning solution from stairs or upholstery.

Only used it once though.
