I’ve used this machine to clean 2 carpets so far. It’s my first Carpet Cleaner of this kind, so I don’t really have anything to compare it to. I purchsed this model based on the reviews here, and I am not disappointed. The only things I have to add:
1. I became concerned after purchasing the item when I realized that the majority of the reviews I was reading were 8+ years old. I feared that the quality/performance of the product may not be current. Not to worry–it works great.

2. The foors were a little more wet than I had expected. I used the item properly and also did a ‘dry run’ after the clean to suck up any extra water. That being said, my carpets dried very quickly (within 2-3 hours), so my perception was probably just due to inexperience. Also, someone here recommended to clean your floors barefoot so you’re aware of any extra wetness that may have gotten overlooked–I did this and found it to be helpful.

3. There is a bit of assembly necessary. It’s easy enough, but for some reason I wasn’t aware of this.

4. The manual was great–easy to follow. I appreciated Hoover’s many displays of phone numbers/website to use for assistance, if necessary. It made me feel that, if I had any issues, they would be easily resolved.

4. It’s a bit heavy. If you have an occupation where you need your hands to be in decent condition, you may want to wear work gloves. I did 2 decent sized rooms in one day and my hands were a bit raw after. This was just a nuisance for me at work the next day, and I will wear gloves next time.

I have no reservations about recommending this product.

Some days I feel discriminated against just because I have a job….I think it should remind us all about how we treat each other in 2010.If you are a kind person, you may feel treated like the “The Help”, no matter race, origin, or color of your eyes. We should all take heed.
